Grab the Wig and RUN!
“I don’t give half a shit what anyone thinks —like being homeless just made me realize; like fuck yeah, pull your shit together… live your life and fuckin love it, because why not? Like this lipstick and this wig. I just saw this wig literally lying on a pile of trash and I was like…
Grab the WIG and RUN bitch!”

Another day In Paradise
Working on Another Day in Paradise with Blindspot Collective was nothing short of transformative—liberating, emotional, silly, vulnerable, and joyful all at once. Taking on the roles of Maria and Baby pushed me to a new level as a performer. Verbatim theatre carries a unique weight; the stakes feel higher when you know that every word spoken is drawn from someone’s real experience. That responsibility made the process even more meaningful, reminding me why storytelling has the power to connect, challenge, and heal.
Portraying Maria and Baby in Another Day in Paradise was a deeply personal experience. Maria’s story, as an immigrant from El Salvador, resonated with me in a profound way. She spoke about the fear and hope she carried while traveling a great distance with her infant son—an experience that reminded me of my own mother’s journey from Mexico City to the U.S. And then there’s Baby—fiery, joyful, and strong. No matter what she’s been through, she refuses to be knocked down. I admire her resilience and freedom, and I can only hope to embody even a fraction of her strength someday.
One of the most exciting—and challenging—parts of working on this show was mastering the dialects. I love working with accents, and these two roles pushed me in the best way. Maria’s Salvadoran accent in English had its own unique nuances, especially since parts of her interview were in Spanish. Then there was Baby, whose Bronx, NY dialect carried a completely different energy. Finding the balance between authenticity and personality in both was a rewarding challenge. But, of course the MOST fun, was Baby’s Red wig(;
